Literature and Leipzig have belonged together for centuries. Leipzig reads celebrates this bond every year in a rousing reading festival that brings literature to numerous reading venues throughout the city. Around 2,500 participants organise more than 2,400 events at 300 different venues. Leipzig liest offers a large stage for publishers and authors to present their latest works. And reading fans can experience literature and literary figures live in readings, talk rounds and participatory events.
